When I read this book about 4 years ago, it changed my life. Living becomes much more enjoyable when you have some guiding principles to live by. Everyday it's a working progress but I'm grateful for the journey! Plug: thanks to @staceyflowers For giving me a copy of it! Sending ❤️ #fouragreements #donmiguelruiz #mindfulness
I’m truly grateful for the talent and thoughtful #Medusa costume design that Celeste Butler @quilterpreneur created! I felt regal all night! My costume raised over $500 for @amplify_arts contributing to over $4,000 with other costume contestants. Special shout out to Celeste and my fiancé @getejikewithit and friends that came out to support me, I appreciate you! #medusagoddess #artistsupport #omahaartists
Today's panel was sold out! Thank you to everyone for being open to the dialogue and getting honest about how art is used as a form of healing from trauma. Thank you to these unapologetic #BlkCreatives for being so dedicated to the work especially! If you know an artist doing meaningful work to highlight the Black Experience, GO SUPPORT THEM! Panelists from left to right: @dechap01 and @lendslay06 and @beautifulbeau84
Tomorrow will be a nice dialogue with these brave #BlkCreatives for the Omaha Table Talk. Over lunch we'll talk about the importance of sharing our stories both on stage and screen. I'll be sure to share some footage of you can't make it! Monday, Sept. 23rd - 11:30a-1p at @university_of_nebraska Omaha campus - Community Engagement Center - It's free!! #RedSummer #omahahistory #willbrownlynching
Planning for a mini-cation before the end of year, help me out please! Please don't tag me with retreats that have more than 30 people either. I want to RETREAT from multiple personalities too - no drama 😅 #Retreat #notabunchofpeople #writingretreat #yogalife #mindfuleating
Who wants to do a book club with me and @lizgrelizgre - come grab a complimentary book today from 2-4pm @theunionomaha - let's read and discuss! #Repost (@get_repost) ・・・ SATURDAY! Zora Neale Hurston Kick Back and Book Pick Up: 2 – 4:30pm. 2019 Union Fellow Liz Gre (@lizgrelizgre), along with longtime Union friend JoAnna LeFlore (@leflorecreative), are opening an exploration of the work and wisdom of author Zora Neale Hurston. The Zora Neale Hurston Reading Club invites readers to come together in appreciation of Hurston and her work as a writer, ethnographer, and student of folk traditions. First on the reading list is 1935's "Mules and Men." In an effort to make the Reading Club more accessible to all, a limited number of copies of the book will be available to share for free. Today (Aug 10) Liz and JoAnna will hold a Book Pick-Up and ZNH Kick Back here at The Union from 2 to 4:30pm. Come by! #zoranealehurston #readingclub
